Vinny was referred to me by a co-worker when I had asked if anyone knew of a good painter... I needed someone to paint the trim and exterior of my home in the historic district of Sandwich. My co-worker said she had found someone special - said his work is unparalleled and moreover he is the total package - said he cares, he is thorough, he listens and he works extremely hard to please. I texted Vinny and he called me within hours. We set up a time to review the job. He came over like the next day and was on-time (rare!). He asked tons of questions not only about the job but about our home and our family - to get a good understanding of what we were truly looking for. He followed up a few days later by coming by and explaining in detail a quote that was easy to understand, fair, competitive, and specific. He made suggestions based on what he learned about us when he came to learn about the job (again, very rare!). He was honest about when and what he could do. We hired him and couldn't be happier about the decision. His crew was incredibly talented, respectful, clean, and professional. The house came out way better than we expected. Vinny's suggestions were on-point and so fitting for our preferences. Not only were the painting results impressive but the carpentry was above and beyond expectations. What a bonus to hire painters that were so multi-talented! They removed and replaced an old ugly door. They rebuilt rotted corners of detailed trim around the house. They compromised and overcame challenging obstacles that older homes often present with jobs like this, impressively. To top it off, we were going to slop a coat of paint over our front door but were so impressed with his work that we hired him to re-finish the front door to see what he could do with it. He removed the door, removed a century of coats of paint and brought the door back to its' original wood and then finished it to be what might be "the most beautiful door in Sandwich" as Vinny claims. Amazing! And as a gift, Vinny took an old rickety wood bench that we had on out patio, repaired, sanded, and painted it to match the house.... who does that for a customer??? Could not recommend a professional more than Mainsail Painting! You WILL NOT find a more fair and professional operation. So lucky to have someone like him on Cape Cod!
